The downtown Vancouver of today is described as stunning, diverse, and lively, yet empty—but with a lot of potential. Together with the Downtown Business Improvement Association (DVBIA), the Dutch Urban Design Centre (Dudoc) is setting out to get answers from the residents, visitors and business owners on what they would like their downtown to be like.
In this Re-Imagine Downtown Vancouver design jam, Dudoc aims to gather thoughts, colourful visions and examples of great public spaces to bring back to DVBIA. The final goal is to have these ideas implemented on the ground to make our city more diverse and interesting for all.
To kick off the evening, we will hear from the organizers of CulturArt Exchange, a social and cultural initiative that created a unique opportunity for youths in Bogota. Together with Arts Umbrella, the Vancouver Bienale and the Liceo Boston, they fostered change in their city through an artful intervention of a neglected public space.
We would like to hear your thoughts.

About Dudoc
Dudoc is a platform for Dutch companies to promote their business cases for sustainable development. It provides an opportunity for exceptional Dutch innovators to introduce their advanced environmentally sustainable designs and products to the Canadian public. As such, it bridges the gap between European expert knowledge and the Canadian consumers.
Their goal is to achieve a low carbon economy and resolve environmental challenges through international partnerships and cutting-edge solutions. Through events and co-working space, we foster discussions and community around sustainability, urban development, green building and technology, architecture, socio-economic development and much more.
